Meet Us Mondays!!
It’s Time for Meet Us Mondays!!!
Today we meet Barb Ebeling, RSVP Project Coordinator
Tell Us About Yourself: I live in Sioux Falls with a husband, two children and our canine companion.
What is your role at Helpline Center and how long have you worked here? I am the Helpline Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) project coordinator, a program (and position) that started last July.
What do you enjoy most about your work at Helpline Center? What I enjoy most about the Helpline Center is that the people are wonderful and are the best thing about coming in each day. What I enjoy most about my particular job is having the opportunity to go out into the community and seeing what amazing things people are doing every day to make our city, our state and the world a better place.
Tell us the most interesting fact about yourself: I may be the single most boring person on the planet, because I cannot for the life of me come up with an answer. So that will be my interesting fact: that I am, in fact, quite uninteresting. And now, thanks to the question, also depressed.
What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?: I have two middle school-aged girls – I am allowed no hobbies or interests (both by their demands that I not embarrass them in any way, shape or form; and by virtue of the fact that I spend all my free time chauffeuring them about).
People would be surprised if they knew?: I learned to drive on a tractor – pretty much the safest way to learn, since east-central Illinois is about as flat as can be imagined and no one comes driving at you in a beanfield – in elementary school. Just as the followup to that story, I didn’t drive a car until I was 24 (And sadly, there is only one farmer [my brother-in-law] left in the family).
