The Helpline Center is thrilled to announce two special in-person events with Emma Benoit in South Dakota. My Ascension chronicles the story of 16-year-old Dutchtown High School varsity cheerleader Emma Benoit, who was paralyzed by a suicide attempt, which propelled her on a mission to use her painful experience to help others find hope and stay alive.
My Ascension is a feature length documentary that highlights Emma's inspiring journey, as she works to bring Hope Squad, a school-based suicide prevention program, to her home state of Louisiana. The film also shares the stories of two remarkable young people who tragically did not survive their attempts, and we learn first-hand from their families, friends, school officials and suicide prevention experts about the devastating effects of suicide and what can be done to prevent it.
There will be two opportunities to attend the film and hear from Emma in South Dakota. She will be in Watertown on Tuesday, November 18, and Rapid City on December 12. Please click on the forms above to reserve your seat for one of these two events.
These events are part of the Helpline Center’s speaker series, which brings impactful voices to our region to foster awareness and support around mental health issues. This speaker series is made possible through the generous support of funds raised from The 437 Project.
We hope you’ll join us for this incredible day of connection, inspiration, and advocacy.
