The Helpline Center is frequently looking for dedicated, caring individuals who are interested in making a difference in the lives of others. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

SALSA Coordinator (Part-time)

The Helpline Center is currently recruiting a part-time SALSA Coordinator to join our staff.  The SALSA Coordinator is responsible for the programming and operations of the Serve And Learn Student Association. The Helpline Center operates the Serve & Learn Student Association (SALSA) for students at five public high schools in Sioux Falls and Brandon. SALSA is an opportunity for youth to engage in service learning, volunteering at community non-profit agencies while engaging in the process of solving social issues.

Qualifications:
– Must have desire to work with high school students
– Ability to supervise volunteers and have knowledge of nonprofit organizations
– Public speaking experience and/or experience with meeting facilitation is preferred

Hours: 20-25 hours per week during school year (August – May).

Helpline Specialist (Part-time)

Helpline Specialists are responsible to provide quality customer service to people requesting assistance through the Helpline Center Connections Center. This includes the 211 program, suicide and crisis support services, texting, emails, contract services and other Helpline services.

Job Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Social Service or related field
– Demonstrated interest in human services
 – Strong oral and written English language skills
– Working knowledge of computers and software programs, proficient keyboarding skills
– Offers of employment contingent upon acceptable background check

IT Software Support Specialist (Full-time)

The IT Software Support Specialist provides support for the implementation, administration and customization of the software at the Helpline Center. The ideal candidate would possess a knowledge and understanding of CRM software and the ability to learn new complex technology/software quickly.  The candidate would be expected to, with some assistance, develop and maintain technology solutions to short term projects and ongoing processes.
Requirements:          
-Associates Degree or Certificate in Information Technology or related experience and/or training OR Bachelor’s Degree in any field with a strong interest in technology and the social services sector OR equivalent combination of education and experience. 
-Advanced Computer skills, proficient in learning new software System Admin experience or Database management experience preferred
-Ability to explain complex technology ideas for wide audience understanding
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals.
-Offers of employment contingent upon acceptable background check

Helpline Center Network of Care Community Specialist (Full-time)

The Network of Care Community Specialist is responsible for implementing and coordinating the Helpline Center Network of Care program in the communities of Brookings and Watertown. The Helpline Center Network of Care is a collaborative effort among community organizations to build a coordinated social service system. The HCNC Community Specialist is will be passionate in building a community-wide system to address social service needs.  The successful applicant will have a track record that demonstrates their talents at engaging partners to ultimately become part of a solution through group facilitation and individual conversations. This position would be ideal for a versatile and dedicated professional who can engage in multiple projects to create conditions for successful systems change.

Job requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree with three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
– Regular travel to Sioux Falls between Watertown and Brookings
– Project management experience desired
– Strong public speaking and communication skills
– Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
– Strong strategic awareness and innovative thinking skills
– Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals
– Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
– Ability to effectively trouble shoot complex issues
– Proficient in Microsoft Office programs with an emphasis in Excel
– Offers of employment contingent upon acceptable background check
