The Helpline Center is frequently looking for dedicated, caring individuals who are interested in making a difference in the lives of others. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

Care Coordination Specialist

This position is responsible for maintenance and implementation of programing to support the efforts to prevent substance use, and support those moving towards recovery. To help meet the needs of this important program, this position will help to identify resources and strengthen referral networks for substance use prevention and treatment. This position will provide care coordination services for individuals and family members experiencing substance use issues. 

Job requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Addiction Studies with certification/license through the Board of Addiction and Prevention Professionals (BAPP) is preferred, or a combination of directly related college coursework and experience in the addiction/social service field may be substituted.
– Experience working with behavioral health providers such as Community Mental Health Centers (CMHC’s), substance use treatment agencies and prevention providers
– Demonstrated interest in human/social services
– Strong oral and written English language skills
– Working knowledge of computers and software programs
– Offers of employment contingent upon acceptable background check

SD CARES Specialist (Two openings available)

The SD CARES Specialist serves a key role in the implementation of the SD CARES Housing Assistance Program to assist applicants in the application process and assess applicants’ needs, questions, and status updates. SD CARES will also serve along-side the Housing Assessment Specialist in utilizing the system-wide assessment of homeless persons to assess the individuals for the appropriate housing intervention. The SD CARES Specialist will screen clients using an assessment workflow through the Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS). 

Job requirements:
– Bachelor Degree preferred with one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
– Strong written and oral communication skills
– Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals
– Ability to effectively trouble shoot complex issues
– Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
– Offers of employment contingent upon acceptable background check
