Mentoring Together
At Terry Redlin, Cleveland, and Anne Sullivan elementary schools, too many students are waiting for a mentor. At the start of the 2025-2026 school year, there were more than 1,000 mentors serving Sioux Falls school district students, yet only about 50 were matched in these three schools combined.
- Who We Are: A collaborative initiative between the Helpline Center, Teammates, LSS, and the Sioux Falls School District to increase mentoring at three Sioux Falls elementary schools.
- What: Mentors are supportive adults who meet with their mentee one-on-one to play games, make crafts, and be a listening ear.
- Where: Anne Sullivan, Cleveland, and Terry Redlin elementary schools
- When: Meet with your mentee weekly for about 40 minutes during lunch, recess, or after school.

Cleveland Elementary Principal Stacy Stefani shares:
“It helps build their confidence, really, just to have a buddy there, just somebody that’s consistent that comes, they show up, they do things with them”
