Program Information
Provides ongoing training and technical assistance to adults who are involved in day-to-day care of young children and offers services to support parents, child care providers, teachers and others involved in early care and education of children birth -12 years of age. Services include:
Face-to-face and online early childhood education on issues such as child development, age appropriate activities, effective guidance, program management, and CPR/First Aid certification.
Resource lending libraries with information on social emotional observations, recommendations and guidance for children using difficult behaviors.
Child Care referral for parents looking for licensed and registered child care providers.
Host site for the South Dakota Child Safety Seat Program
Coordinates the Starting Strong Preschool scholarship program, the Responsive Parenting class, Child Development Associate credentialing and other programs.
