Helpline Center Events
Each year the Helpline Center hosts several signature events. We hope you'll join us at one of our events as we bring our community together to build awareness and support of our programs. If you'd like to learn more about our events and how to get involved, contact us by calling 211.
Join us on Monday, July 14 at Willow Run Golf Course in Sioux Falls for the Helpline Open. All the funds raised from the event will support the suicide prevention and crisis support programs offered through the Helpline Center.

Each year since 2022, a group of twelve runners stop at nothing to influence and create positive change in the Mount Rushmore State. In 2025, on Thursday, September 25 the runners will depart from the west side of the state to begin the 437 mile relay-style journey. Tackling the ever-changing South Dakota weather and terrain, runners will connect with communities as they raise funds and awareness for mental health and suicide prevention, finishing in Sioux Falls on Sunday, September 28. Each year over 48,000 people in the United States die by suicide leaving behind thousands of loved ones to endure this life-changing loss. Your donation to The 437 Project provides ongoing support to someone who has lost a family member or friend to suicide, connecting them with resources and support groups to navigate through the grieving process. Your contributions to the project and the Helpline Center will also allow team members access to adequate training to ensure the skills necessary to identify those at risk of suicide and provide the life-saving means to help.
For over 35 years, the Spirit of Volunteerism breakfasts are held each spring in Sioux Falls and Rapid City. The Helpline Center's Volunteer Connections program will be seeking nominations from the community for various categories in January 2026. The honorees will then be recognized at an event in April 2026 both in Sioux Falls and in Rapid City.

Thank you to the over 800 attendees who joined us at the walk on June 7, 2025, making it one of our most successful events to date. The hope, compassion, and support from everyone who participated truly made the day memorable and inspiring. From families and friends walking together, to dedicated individuals who came out to support the cause, the turnout was a powerful reminder of the strength and unity within our community.
We are deeply grateful to all of the sponsors and donors whose generosity and commitment played a crucial role in helping us reach our ambitious fundraising goal of $65,000. Their contributions—whether large or small—helped provide the resources we needed to plan, organize, and execute this event successfully. Each dollar raised brought us closer to our mission and made a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.
This milestone would not have been possible without the combined efforts of so many. Volunteers, participants, sponsors, donors, and community partners all came together in support of a shared purpose. Thank you once again to everyone who helped make this walk such a meaningful and impactful experience.
