Mental Health Resources

Campus Programs

The Helpline Center collaborates with South Dakota colleges and universities to support student well-being through mental health education, suicide prevention efforts, awareness events, skill-building workshops and connections to local resources. These initiatives are designed to foster a healthier campus environment, encourage help-seeking, reduce stigma and equip students, faculty and staff with the tools to support themselves and others.

Campus Chapters

Campus Chapters are student-led organizations that promote mental wellness, suicide prevention, peer connection, and awareness of campus and community resources. Chapters work closely with campus advisors and Helpline Center staff to host events, share resources, advocate for student well-being, and build more supportive campus communities.

Mental Health Trainings

The Helpline Center campus trainings help reduce mental health stigma and provide skills for students to grow in their coping skills, self-care, resilience and better understand mental health challenges or suicidal ideation. Trainings range from 45-60 minute sessions ideal for classrooms, to longer trainings better suited for student leaders or staff.

Peer2Peer Mentorship

The Peer2Peer program connects trained student mentors with peers who could benefit from extra support as they navigate college life. Through one-on-one connections, students build confidence, strengthen resilience, learn about available resources, and create a greater sense of belonging on campus. The program also gives mentors valuable leadership and personal development experience.
